He participated in the development of Duty Free projects,
Aviation Fuel projects and real estate ventures in China.
As Commercial Director of Aeropuertos
Argentina 2000, concessionaire of 32 airports in Argentina,
he was responsible for the growth of the company’s total
revenues, adding up aeronautical and non aeronautical revenue
of the National Airport System. In 2001, he
was in charge of negotiating the acquisition of Edcadassa,
air cargo & shipping company, from The Exxel Group, and
of negotiating the acquisition of Duty Free (Interbaires)
from Deutsche Bank. He has also developed Duty Paid S.A. (Duty
Paid Corporation), retailer for domestic airports; Food Port
S.A. (Food Port Corporation), concessionaire of catering services
for 50% of the airports; Airport Media, company in charge
of publicity and promotions at the 32 airports; Transfer Express,
cab company operating at main airports.
He developed the Business Plans in the concession bids to
run Carrasco Airport in Montevideo, Uruguay, and Simón
Bolívar Airport in Guayaquil, Ecuador. He was responsible
for the commercial development & local management training
at Carrasco Airport in Montevideo, Uruguay, and at Simón
Bolívar Airport in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
He was Director of ARG, former LAPA
(Línea Aérea Privada Argentina, now defunct
Argentine airline), and Commercial
Director of AA2000. While holding those positions,
he was engaged in aggressive competition with Aerolineas Argentinas.
He was CEO at Transfarmaco S.A. (logistics company specialized
in the pharmaceutical industry) and Tasa Logística
S.A. (customized logistics solutions), companies owned by
The Investment Fund of The Bemberg Group, through BISA (Bemberg
Investment S.A.).
He has been member of the board of directors
of Customized Logistics Argentina S.A. (logistics company
specialized in the car manufacturing industry). He has also
been member of the board of directors
of Barugel y Azulay S.A. (construction business retailer).
Both companies owned by the above-mentioned Investment Fund.
He has been CEO and member of the board
of directors of Alpargatas Textil S.A. (80% owned by
Alpargatas S.A. and 20% owned by Greenwood Mills South Carolina,
USA), textile company specializing in the biggest markets
for fabrics (Denim, working clothes and serge), in home products
(Pallete brand, linen brand) and in cleaning products (Media
Naranja brand).
He was actively involved in launching ALBRATEX S.A. (ALBRATEX
Corporation) in Brazil. He was also actively involved in the
sale of 20% of the share capital of Alpargatas Holding S.A.
to Newbridge, an American investment fund, through different
roadshows.
He has devoted his expertise to Corporate
Counseling Services, providing counseling services to CEOs,
Owners, Presidents, Shareholders and Top Managers.
He has also provided counseling services in Corporate Restructuring
Programs, Strategic Planning Schemes, Business Organization
Projects and Negotiation Processes.

As Commercial Director and member of
the board of directors of Supermarket Chain TIA S.A.
(TIA Corporation), he was in charge of placing 100% of the
orders to replenish stocks, both in the Domestic and International
markets. He was in charge of Marketing, Advertising &
Logistics as well.
He participated in the development and launching of TIA
Express stores. He slashed operating costs. As a consequence,
corporate image was successfully changed and corporate profits
grew dramatically.
He was Vice President and Director of
Swift Armour S.A. (subsidiary of Campbell Soup Company,
USA). He was directly responsible for a strong growth in the
company’s market share from 38% in 1988 to 75% in 1991.
Upon entering the company, he was trained in marketing at
Campbell Soup Co, Camden, New Jersey and at Toronto, Canada.
Later on, he was in charge of a 10,000 ton refrigeration plant,
where he improved the performance of the facility significantly,
reaching 90% of operational capacity.
As Administrative Manager and later Commercial Manager of
Carrefour Argentina S.A. (Carrefour Corporation), he was in
charge of organizing the accountancy department and the monthly
MIS for the management of the hypermarket and its commercial
areas at the Vicente Lopez branch first, and then at the hypermarket
located in San Isidro, Buenos Aires, Argentina. As Commercial
Manager of the San Isidro branch, he was head of the Food,
Beverages, Pharmacy and Cleaning Products Departments. Under
his administration, the performance of these departments was
enhanced; constructive negotiations were held with the trade
union; and brands started paying to have their products placed
at end caps, a commercial practice that had never been implemented
in Argentina so far. This branch became the most profitable
hypermarket of the company.
In March 1986, he was sent to the city of Oviedo, Spain, to
take a training course at PRYCA Chain stores, property of
Carrefour. He was then sent to France to receive further training.
He held the position of Commercial Manager
at Shopping Soleil. He was responsible for launching
Argentina’s first shopping mall, with 122 commercial
stores. Shopping Soleil turned out to be a huge commercial
success.
After graduating with a degree in Public Accountancy, he started
working for Arthur Andersen & Co.
(Pistrelli Diaz & Asoc.) in the Auditing and Counseling
Department. He retired as Senior Manager after working for
several Oil Companies: Perez Companc, Halliburton, Petroquímica
Cuyo (Cuyo Petrochemicals) and Quitral Co. He also worked
for SADE Construcciones (Construction Business) and for Levi’s
(Textile Business).
